i like doomsong using it not as disadvantage nor advantage but whether its a focused or hasty check a small different that goes a long way, paired with it using d6s and its also a lot more meaningful imo

surely thats because the conventional wisdom is in regards to storytelling ~ here the medium is an artbook which makes the worldbuilding serve a different function
its the same thing as making complicated lore for an OC, not the best thing to do for a novel but very common and great for artists.

a medieval horror ttrpg ~ its doing some interesting things and has one of the most fun character creations ive seen (a lifepath system where you can end up being burnt on the pyre for being a wycce)

both of those are actually really cool in the game, but like i said in my blog post about how it explains violent encounters, it does a lot well that its glaring ommissions hurt the game that much more (and seem to just be from trying to smash it into an osr box?? its a dungeon crawler already)
