Two things need to happen simultaneously:

1) A rapid mobilization and expansion of mutual aid networks to protect, feed, and care for each other

2) A tireless effort to elect progressive politicians looking to oust these fascists and their spineless enablers

The video of people swing dancing outside the ice building to protest... So… yes to protesting, always. But also some of this whimsy and love style just feels not appropriate. I just think if someone abducted and tortured my loved one is this the response I would like to see.

In the week since Mayor Wilson began enforcing the public camping ban, we are seeing MORE tents in East Portland. Those folks are just being swept into my district.

I told the mayor that this is what would happen and asked him to bring extra resources to East PDX to meet the displaced. He did not.

Might be biased but in light of our mayor turning out to be exactly as bad the last two I think it’s a safe bet to say no matter what they put in the voter pamphlet we need to stop voting for guys who look like this.

As always the onus is on random people with no training and no preparation to stay calm and deescalate when cops irrationally lose their shit. Few people are held to a higher standard than victims of police violence.
Chaos erupted in Little Village.

In Japan, tourism to Portland, Oregon, is promoted by a grinning blue monster named Odnarodude. He’s at a Portland artisan event in Jiyugaoka De Aone this weekend.

I would feel better about congressional dems if they did something like publicly donate money to food banks or something during these vacations, which they are also on, and also getting paid during. Pointing at the other side and doing nothing else, while accurate, doesn’t help hungry people.
Crockett: When you go and you hit those booths come the midterms, think about which party decided that it was okay to literally be on vacation while people were going hungry in the streets of America.

If sandwich shops don’t start offering a sandwich named “the acquittal” then what are we even doing
November 6, 2025 at 9:27 PM
“Lairmore had testified that the sandwich ‘exploded all over’ his chest and claimed he could smell mustard and onions. But a photo showed that the sandwich was still in its wrapper on the ground after it hit Lairmore in his bulletproof vest.”

Is lying in court a crime?

Zohran’s speech was excellent. The clips on here are ok but I recommend watching in full.

Whats NYC going to do now that all its wealthy people are leaving? Oh right, they don’t pay taxes anyway so who cares.

🥳🥳🥳
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral race on Tuesday, marking a historic win for the left over a high-powered, moneyed coalition of establishment forces that came together in hopes of defeating him.

My block list is extensive and fickle. I’ve noticed no degradation in my experience. I wish there were more tools to help me block. And I don’t care if that impacts a platform that will eventually run itself into the ground anyway with or without my help. I’m on here for my own enjoyment.

I am not the target audience, but I followed them on here for their reporting on labor and social movements. One of the very few honest, direct, historically conscious publications. End of an era.
Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue and youngest editor of Condé Nast ever, and the 2nd African American to hold this position, changed Teen Vogue to be more politically conscious.

Welteroth was just 29 when Anna Wintour made her editor-in-chief. Months later, the magazine shut down. What did she do next?
