Do you know where we can we see the council’s actual wording on the proposal? I’ve heard they’re debating whether to move funds from the sweeps budget for rent and housing assistance and I’d like to submit in favor of that, but I want to see what they actually wrote so I can reference correctly.

Like a ton of us came together to financially support each other and we have way less wealth. It’s not an unrealistic ask.

I like your comparison tho, either way they split it that person is a liar. I do wish we had a real portland group that could have more intelligent discussions. Probably at minimum have to get rid of the up and down votes for that to ever happen.

To me the fact the parks levy caused a complete meltdown on there was reassuring that the sub does not represent the majority of portlanders. If it was as unpopular as reddit makes it sound it would not have passed so strongly.

About time. Sweeps are a proven failed strategy for decades now. Makes no sense to continue funding them. Getting people into housing is a win for everyone.
