Really good thread here, reminding us just how dishonest this group of gender critical journalists operating within the BBC and BMJ were, and the horrific damage they did.
Emily Maitlis brags about her, Deb Cohen, and Hannah Barnes getting the Tavistock GIDS service shut down.
What she doesn't talk about is how Newsnight journalists manufactured outrage and concocted "scandals" based on unethical journalism - which they were called out for, but tried to hide...

It is bad that the director of the BBC has resigned over a scandal people only cared about because the mentally unwell President of the United States became fixated with it, and it then went viral on the website controlled by the world's richest man.

I have said privately that while I don’t necessarily begrudge anybody who chooses to leave the US, but A. That is tremendously privileged and b. I do think we have to be very skeptical about giving them roles in the country once we defeat fascism simply because they didnt stand and fight
Sick story dude. I mean a Muslim democratic socialist just became mayor of NYC but I'm sure they were totally gonna make second rate Yale philosophy professors the number one target. Truly the most persecuted amongst us.

🏊♀️The women who swim at Kenwood Ladies Pond have already made their decision.
In 2024, almost 900 members voted to keep their trans-inclusive policy - a policy that has worked peacefully since 2019.
Now, a small campaign group is seeking to overturn that democratic decision through the courts.

Fun fact: The ECU actually used the phrase “trans identity”, not “trans ideology”, and, in editing that quote, this BBC article about a presenter expressing anti-trans views breaching editorial guidelines has itself breached editorial guidelines. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Humza Yousaf also belongs in this category, despite attempts by (hetero) Labour members to paint him as homophobic
If you asked me to come up with the names of politicians who are publicly and unapologetically pro-LGBT and pro-trans rights in particular, two of the most obvious would now both be Muslim mayors of major cities. And both are routinely smeared as regards to 'Sharia Law'.

I think its now got to be the case that respectable people should just refuse to appear on panels with Goodwin, even if that means cancelling on the BBC at short notice.

Rich people quitting the UK could be required to pay a 20% tax on their business assets as part of plans reportedly being considered by the chancellor, Rachel Reeves.
The Treasury has drawn up plans for a “settling-up charge” on assets; a move that would bring the UK into line with most other G7 nations and raise a predicted £2bn for the public coffers, according to the Times. Continue reading...
