Build as big a fence as you want, it still has to have a gate if you want to go in and out. This will get rid of the demonstrations.

Matt Taibbi is a terrible person, however, when he had a podcast he had this bit where he would inhale helium and read bad op-eds.

It would serve well for this transcript.

pretty sure we made fun of him for putting his dog on the roof rack

I wonder if there are any historical examples for what happens when the authoritarian street brawlers become obsolete due to the consolidation of power and rise of a national paramilitary force?

Also for hazing law students.

Law journals are for bad political scientists who want to be paid more than $60,000/yr

It’s pretty fucked when anyone is expecting the legitimate function of the press to be “giving credit” to an administration.

Not their job!

Hegseth: “You would think the Pentagon press corps…would be front and center across the board on wanting to give credit to the president for forging this kind of peace. Instead, what they want to talk about is a policy about them."

Anyway the only way out is through and I’m feeling perhaps naively optimistic about how the 2026 primaries will go.
fiftyburger.bsky.social
‘If your ideas are supported by the party’s members you’ll win’ is a correct prescription for all candidates in the primary, not just the young insurgents.
fiftyburger.bsky.social
This is the correct take, but it would be preferable if organizations like the DSCC existed more to win general elections than to pick sides in primaries.

This is true regardless of whether the DSCC is as powerful today as it was in 2006.

If we have the power to keep the government shut down it seems like we’re not that small.

Emmer: "We call it the 'Hate America' rally because you'll see the hate for America all over this thing when they show up. The rumor is that they can't end this shutdown because this small but very violent and vocal group is the only one that's happy about this."

Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan gave us the court that is allowing this to happen.

"During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she 'doesn’t look like' a Greeley."

Chicago Tribune: Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

Maybe tired old promises about ANWR, NPRA, and a gasoline will do it yet again but I dunno!

The state of Alaska is insolvent below about $72/bbl. I wonder if this is relevant to midterms with a retiring governor!

War crimes, crimes against humanity, conspiracies to protect pedophiles, frauds, grifts, I’m sure some deputy secretary has probably smashed a mailbox.

Along with fast-tracking FEMA funds for the Naples pier, Noem flew to the Florida city on a government plane to tour the site, then stayed for the weekend and had dinner with the donor, according to emails and an interview with the Naples mayor.

Pritzker can shut the hell ip until he stops participating in this.

He can pull the state police out. DHS is not entitled to terrorize states with the states’ resources.
