Holy shit, anyone with experience in the military will tell you this is sooooo bad and amateurish. You don't have someone just charge in, you move as a group.
That stuff leads people to being reactive and way more violent because of the lack of planning. They love making it worse though.

Plus, they're pretty good about getting the place names correct which is pretty rare. Central Texas is such a mishmash or weird Czech, German, Mexican, and Native American names people rarely get them right.

I used to teach Texas history. Kids liked it because I was honest, not the yeehaww bs version in movies and the "official" story. @inthesedeserts.bsky.social @whatahellofawaytodad.com are doing easily one of the best histories I've ever heard.
