I'd like to submit to #ttrpg court (and @theneoncaster.bsky.social ) that cronching is a form of cheating at the table. At least if you use the same die over a long period due to your teeth wearing the die down and thus, changing the distribution of weight of the die and affecting probability.

Semi related. One of my first experiences with racism was getting pigeonholed into being Roadblock whenever we played G.I. Joe.
My mom got me a Roadblock action figure before this happened that I was very proud of.
Didn't know why being Roadblock had me f'd up. I just wanted to be Snake Eyes.

Just got my flu and covid vaccine at my local walk in clinic, uninsured for $44 all together.
They needed a vaccine record and all I had on my was my HPV vaccine record from my gyno and they counted it.
It’s okay to get it now if you still need it. Some protection is better than none
GO GET IT

If you are uninsured and need vaccines, including an updated COVID vaccine, look at your local county health services website and find the county health clinics.
Many of them have a walk in vaccines once a week or so, or a mobile health can schedule where you can get up to date for $30 each one

I think I just came up with a solution for how I'll do mapping stuff in #ScarSeal!
A checkerboard. Red pieces are floors and Black Pieces are walls by default. The powers of game entities can push them around or shift the entire board with gravity matching the orientation

This is so true it hurts. Even popular let's play people are more focused on chat, making jokes, or doing whatever gains the most attention. Which inevitably means they begin griping about being lost and saying the game is bad. (And leads to me yelling at the screen to pay attention)
"Player who does not pay attention may be confused," has been a problem forever, but our modern age makes distraction easier and high-level folks especially scared of any friction. I believe in getting information flow right, but the "please handhold more" directions I got were rough sometimes.
You wanna know why we're having nag line discourse in 2025? Because developers know we're fighting an attention economy war we'll lose no matter what. Players don't read, have TikTok open next to them, god forbid we are scared you miss something and then blame us for not giving you all the info.

Sometimes I think there's a bit of a reflexive urge to decide that if "gamers" are complaining about something then that thing must actually be good, and in a post-Gamergate landscape I kinda understand that, but sometimes a thing can just suck ass on its own merits

I think with all of the death, disease, and other damned forms of suffering surrounding me at this time, I need to rally myself around my purpose as a game dev and get back to work. I don't have a full time job at the moment so I should focus on doing what I can.
