I'll be playing a couple of excerpts from a Bach Suite at the Royal Conservatory of Music's adult students recital on Sunday, here in Toronto (3:30 pm Mezzolini Hall if anyone is around and feels like attending, but be warned I am 5 minutes of a 2 hour program).

Used cityquiz.io to make a map of places where I've lived, spent more than a few days, or had "significant experiences." I consider myself decently travelled but this really drives home to me how little of the planet I've actually seen.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

even if you don't care about trans ppl it should alarm you just how captured the bbc has become.

I used to live in Waterford in 2005-2006, and I took the train to Kilkenny or Dublin fairly often. I had no idea the line had closed in 2010. How depressing!

There's no funding to reopen the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare. The All-Island Rail Review recommended reopening this. It's only been closed since 2010 and is being maintained. Would have been huge for regional development.

I am a relatively successful writer. Each of my three novels has earned out. I have a day job, one that I have had for many years. I will have it until I am forced to retire at gunpoint. If I did not have this day job, I would not be able to write, it’s as simple as that.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

In a foul mood and neglecting doing my little tasks this afternoon. Ruminating on how an entire wing of my social life just kind of dropped me after I fell out with my former best friend. That shit is traumatizing even if nothing that cruel was ever said to your face.

So I showed up and they were like “the appointment is tomorrow and it’s a phone call” even though they gave directions to the physical office in their voicemail. I pointed out that I *thought* my appointment was a call on Dec 2, and they were like “the rescheduled it.” I was like ???
So I guess I’m going to drag my ass to the blood doctor tomorrow and be like “hello, I am supposed to be here either today or tomorrow, I think.”
