These people are also the easiest marks for scams, and our media outlets are incentivized to promote these ideas because scams (in the short run) make lots of money. It's a feedback loop we can't seem to terminate, which is terrifying since these ideas can't be shaken even when proven false.

When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

I think all they really needed to do to make PT accessible to folks who never touch DD normally is the checkpoint system. I don't think toning down the threat levels in later floors is the right move, because it means the only real threat is the bosses. Give us mean mobs.

HOW'S IT MEASURE UP?
I think there are a lot of strong QoL choices made.

Farming AP/potsherds is actually fine.

Removing Blind and No Ability enchantments seems very unDD, espc since nothing was included to replace them.

But I enjoy DD for the tension of clearing. I need threat.

Purification pomander seems like a forgotten design element. Almost useless.

A pretty un-scary DD. Hardly any mobs are scary enough to feel wary even on high floors. Tension levels were really low compared to even EO.

At least half of the bosses are reasonably engaging.

Aesthetics are on point.

Most of the music is well chosen. I would still adjust the playlist a fair bit.

Early floors enemies aren't all one-shot mobs made of cement.
