Accidentally saw international news of the calibre as stupid as this, so it's time to get off the internet now.
“Kage, aren’t you afraid AI will threaten your job prospects?”
In the last week I’ve had to explain to people—during 2 separate projects—why I didn’t implement *clickable urls* on their *PRINTED ASSETS*. I think my job prospects as a graphic designer are just fine.

Accidentally saw international news of the calibre as stupid as this, so it's time to get off the internet now.
Due to a variety of environmental factors I ended up quite overstimulated. Fixed that with a 15 minute power nap.

After this person jumped through several hoops to learn some generative AI tool for some weeks, they sheepishly admitted that to make advertisements and such, human designers are needed.
Could have told them that but some people wanna learn the hard way.

Someone at work asked if there’s any “generative AI programme that can make very specific edits to graphics without changing the rest of the image”.
My lazyarse slacker brother in Christ Almighty at this point just go learn Photoshop ffs.

It's baffles and frustrates me how people hop over from Twitter to try BlueSky, then leave all huffy because they won't get spoon-fed content when that same dependency on algorithm feeds is what has led to so much modern social media enshitification in the first place? 🤔

Not colleagues getting confused because AI summaries for search results are conflicting whatever information I have told them.
The death of critical thinking and AI-dependency has rendered them incapable of scrolling beyond that stupid slop to find dozens of accurate results beneath

Friction to buying products/services makes me stop and think through if I truly need it. Mindful spending etc etc
