There's been solid data on this for a long time. White folks will agree with lots of welfare programs unless they get the idea that it might go to "those people."

Day 1348 of my 3 day war. I dreamed I was chased naked thru a burning oil terminal by a pack of flamingos 🦩🔥

I remain a master strategist.

The same people who called you cringe overreacting panicmongers for warning Trump might actually do the things he campaigned on (and subsequently did), are now imagining a version of Mamdani that plans to end capitalism and freaking out about it.
Another abominable editorial from the Wash Post
How would this: "non-militarised European security framework" work?
It is not the early 2000s, were are in the middle of the largest war in Europe since 1945 with the biggest country on the planet trying to destroy the biggest country in Europe.
That begs realistic answers.

The result of yesterday’s attack on the Russia's Tuapse seaport, as reported by the reputable channel "Dosie Shpiona": 12 drones were used in the strike, damaging several vessels and the port’s pipeline infrastructure.
At this point Russian attacks are closer and closer to Basij Militia during the Iraq-Iran war. Incredible losses which Russia cannot afford, but will try it again and again anyway.

will all be in the piece I'll write after Tuesday but I went canvassing with Mamdani volunteers the other day and several people whose doors they knocked on *thanked* them for being Mamdani volunteers, had never witnessed such enthusiasm for a political candidate
Early vote numbers in NYC paint a picture of an electorate I don’t think anyone could have predicted.
I'd give him a Warlord Class Titan, so that after sorting out the Russians, Prussians and Austrians he could in person tell some guys that keeping slavery will eventually lead nowhere good even if you are an ocean away from credible threats.
Oh, but you can.

Obviously it would start falling apart months or even weeks after it is finished, but by that time there would be another white rabbit to chase.

The regime in Georgia has just detained Manana Javashvili, a 65-year-old teacher.

Yet another great example of a "foreign-funded CIA agent," right, X tankies?

She's the 3rd retired lady to be detained in less than 16 hours.

What I found soothing though is how the Sejm was arguing about stuff. Reading records from the XVIIth century is really interesting, how so many people from so many places were reaching an agreement.
I think that "It combines in itself the best and the worst of the history of the continent, usually at the exact same time." was even possible because PLC was so vast and complicated. A peasant in Greater Poland was richer than a noble in Masovia, Kyiv voivodeship was larger than many countries etc

The paradox of accelerated recruitment for ICE and CBP that supposedly will make America safer is that with lower standards and fewer checks it leaves key parts of the American security state wide open to infiltration and subversion by enormously wealthy drug cartels.
Threat/devastation list - 1. Sweden because it devastated the core territories of PLC,
2. Russia (same, but for Lithuania/Belarus),
3. Cossacks & Tatars (when they fought together),
4. Brandenburg (started the Prussian goose step there),
35. Transylvania (they came, robbed and died).
Because during the XIXth and for a large part of the XXth century that was the 'grey zone' between empires or a part of an empire. That is perfectly enough for so many people to ignore what doesn't suit this time, so anything between 1918 and 1939 or what is happening after 1989.
It is a place from which Stephen Bathory was from. Thanks to multi-ethnic form of Transylvania was well prepared to rule PLC - Jan Zamoyski helped a lot in turning that in something so successful.
And there is the forgotten, suicidal invasion during the Deluge, so Transylvania is barely on the list.
Jesus... they are describing Fins or forest goblins?

I've read many disturbing forms of 'information', but this is still something...

... and in the middle of which the American mad king is:
- occupying US cities
- demolishing the presidential residence and transforming it into a royal palace with money from bribes
- paying troops with private funds
- waging illegal war in the Caribbean
- preparing an illegal invasion of Venezuela
There is something patently absurd in all the moaning about EU unity as a contrast to America when we are now in week 5 of a US government shutdown that increasingly looks permanent

You can see the outlines of an illiberal international order
This is quite a story: the US employed every strongarm tactic available, including personal threats against delegates and their families, to derail an agreement on reducing shipping emissions that was almost finalized. on.ft.com/47lq3dZ

Gdańsk in Poland has been named a global City of Literature by UNESCO.

It is now one of only 63 such cities in the world, and the third in Poland to obtain the distinction.

We have reached peak "NATO expansion propaganda". Jeffrey Sachs claims he was personally told by someone he didn't meet that there was a broken promise to a person who says it wasn't made.
