Tribunal: *finds that Sandie Peggie harassed Dr Beth Upton*
British Press: Hahaha no, that's not the story we already decided we like, they must have said it wrong, we'll just say the opposite thing happened ☺️
#C4News went above & beyond, reporting:

"a nurse has won a harassment claim against Dr Beth Upton."

No she didn't. NHS FIFE harassed her, not Upton.

This is almost defamatory, & they mentioned none of the dismissed parts or the implications for trans women in SS spaces. I complained to Ofcom.

Dictating what people can study based on their postcode is bad, actually.
'There in the shadows [of the White Paper] lies the call for HE institutions to specialise, with the lurking threat that many will lose their research funding in some, but perhaps many, areas, in order to better fund those with more intensive research.'
Labour must not repeat history by sidelining research in post-92 universities
The abolition of the binary divide in HE made visible the wealth of research excellence in what became known as the post-92 part of the sector. Katie Normington worries that forcing specialisation ris...

An independent taskforce *just* did a huge review of ADHD in England, and the conclusion was that it's "under-recognised, under-diagnosed and under-treated."

It's very obvious that if any other prominent politician had been so racist in school that it's haunted 20+ former classmates ever since, it would be treated like a bigger deal. We should examine how and why "still being very racist four decades later" is acting as Farage's protective shield.

Everyone’s talking about whether Farage was racist to schoolchildren as a boy when he was racist to schoolchildren THIS WEEK. All the kids who are of reading age can read what he says about them.
John Swinney has responded to Nigel Farage's attack on Glasgow schoolchildren, calling it 'quite simply racist'

If we can only have art from people who "aren't in it for the money" that means we can only have art from privileged middle-class dilettantes. Making art being a viable career is responsible for nearly all worthwhile art, and if it's not a viable career any more we will get drastically less of it.

Farage also wants an apology from the BBC "for all of your appalling output" or he won't speak to them again. He sounds very, very rattled.

We're watching the wholesale burning of every scrap of dignity afforded to trans people in the UK, their rights, their medical services, their employment, their place within society, their bodily functions.

It is a disgrace, and a disgusting stain on the government and media of this country.

this feels like another iteration of the "what if I give a homeless man money and he buys booze" thing. So then he bought booze, so what, you are not his personal life coach. You did your bit now go live your life.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Andrew Milne is clearly very disturbed. If he pitched up to my house suggesting I might be his sex slave and live in his garage I would do all I could to bring about his downfall

And the SRA appear toothless in the face of this ☹️
A solicitor, Andrew Milne has been bullying leaseholders across Sheffield into paying him extraordinary sums, with no legal basis.

Why hasn't the SRA stopped him? Because he's conducted an extraordinary campaign against the SRA. 180 complaints. Two judicial reviews.

Broke: Die Hard is not a Christmas movie, it’s an action film
Woke: Die Hard is set at Christmas. Christmas film
Bespoke: Die Hard is about death, judgement, and deliverance from evil (and people anticipating the celebration of Christmas with an office party) and is therefore clearly an Advent movie
