What's with suburban chippers closing before 'Closing Time' ? When did it start? Used to be a big link between people coming out of the pub to the chipper.

If anyone sees this (exact) product in a shop anywhere on the island of Ireland, can you please let me know?

It's been discontinued (apparently temporarily), then allegedly returned, but is nowhere to be found. There have been sightings, but none by me, and I'm *desperate*.

During the Presidential campaign a question came into the WhatsApp group. "Is Catherine Connolly married?", someone had been asked this when canvassing. These days candidates tend not to share too much personal details in their material or indeed online. That wasn't always the case.... #speirgorm

I’m really sick of people posting this. Anyone with children knows it’s nonsense.

Charity shops almost never take soft toys for hygiene reasons, and they aren’t allowed to take electronics.

This only applies to *brand new toys still in the box*.
Love being reminded to do this every year. It's a win/win all round

'peace eludes south Lebanon'
Yes, Lebanon just keeps misplacing its peace. How careless of it. It needs to keep its peace in a safe place so this doesn't keep happening.
BBC News: "Year after ceasefire, peace eludes south Lebanon as Israeli strikes continue"

So BBC News, is it, in fact, a ceasefire?

If you live in Ireland, remember that in recent memory a single rugby-loving bank CEO cost the taxpayer more than every single welfare recipient in the state COMBINED. #SpeirGorm
I would rather 50 people got benefits they didn't need than 1 went without food or shelter.
Hot take maybe but I actually don’t give a shit about benefit fraud.

I give a shit about multimillionaires and billionaires existing and not paying tax on their actual wealth.
