On the mental health thing overdiagnosis thing. After a bereavement I got understandably - naturally some would say - depressed, and for a long time. It took my diabetes consultant to help me clock that it wasn't a good way to be and that it was affecting my physical health.

objectively there are hundreds of different diagnosis of physical conditions where the leading causing factor is stress. from heart problems to skin conditions to IBS.
And that's before we even get to the mental health side of things.

But, life being stressful can make you ill. This is well known. You can argue about diagnostic criteria if you must, but you can't over diagnose anything. Either the patient in front of you meets the criteria for a diagnosis or not. There's not a guaranteed 50,000 new cases of depression a year!
