To understand this problem, first, you have to understand the demographics of Star Trek viewers. Trekkies are and always have been men. Women are not usually interested in science fiction, but that’s doubly true of Star Trek in particular.

I hear you, random guy who once knew some lady who watched every Voyager episode. I see you on Instagram, attractive girl cosplaying in Starfleet miniskirts. Unfortunately, you very cool Trek-girls are the exception, not the rule.

I feel like if you don’t have art yet, it’s better to put in a blank “placeholder”
or royalty free clip art with placeholder language than use AI art and promise to replace it with real art later? It makes me skeptical and I avoid projects that do this.

Memories #MTG

You see that place?
It used to be the LGS my friends and I played at when we were younger.
Back then we didn't have any real responsibilities or cares in the world.
We just loved playing Magic and hanging out together.
Some nights wed play until the early morning.
I have so many great memories from that time in my life.
We didn't know how good we had it, and now it's gone.
At least we can make some new memories now...

You're missing my point, sorry. I'm fully aware that the planned rule change does not include phyrexian mana (or the MH3 planeswalkers). I'm not making an argument that they should. My point is that there should be a logically consistent ruling for all three.

Applying that reasoning to phyrexian mana, I could ignore the half of the bracket text that says pay blue mana if blue is outside my colour identity and pay 2 life instead. Feels like just the same thing, and my point is that it makes no sense to have different rules for this. Guess we won't agree.

That's fair, but I often teach new players how to play Commander, and hybrid mana is definitely easier to explain with the current ruling. If a colour on a card is not on your commander's card, you can't put the card in your deck. Now I have to explain exceptions, and I wonder where it will stop.

I get what the effect would be. I just think it's not logically consistent to allow hybrid mana in mono coloured decks but not phyrexian mana in decks that are not the same colour. (Not to mention the MH3 planeswalkers that don't even have mana symbols of the other colour anywhere on the card...)

I like hybrid mana, too. And my question was a rhetoric one. What reason would there be to open hybrid mana to mono coloured decks and not treat phyrexian mana the same?
