Hi, it’s me, your neighborhood robotics business guy, to inform you that if robots were actually ready to automate a process at scale, they would likely already be deployed
Fascinating interview with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on @cnbc.com this morning: He said that US manufacturers can use robots to offset the low wages paid in other countries, enabling the return of more production to the US, and Americans can get jobs building and maintaining the robots.

state officials must continue calling for calm to avoid making bad facts for the Insurrection Act case which is inevitably coming, but the people responsible for this murder must be arrested

Shout out to the fed posters today acting like First Blood was a documentary
You cannot, in fact, beat the US federal government in a contest of violence. You win the contest by forcing them to reveal that they can’t shoot all of you, so they shouldn’t even try.

Yeah, even if it turns out this guy had a gun on him, the video makes it obvious that the shooting had exactly zero to do with that
Gonna go out on a limb and assume this is a lie bc literally everything else the DHS says is a lie.

For one: if they knew this guy had a gun, then why didnt they get it off of him while they had him on the ground?

If they knew he had a gun why did they all crowd around him to beat him?
DHS told Fox News the suspect was armed with a gun, which has been recovered by federal agents.

I think the single worst thing about that video might be that the thugs immediately distanced themselves once the shots were fired. Cowards who knew they had together committed an atrocity.

Politicians Stop Using Scheduled Posts Challenge
Honored to have the endorsement of the California Police Chiefs Association. As the son of a police chief, brother to two cops, and a former prosecutor, I know keeping communities safe takes trust, accountability, and real partnership.

They’re actually trying to tell Fox News that he had a gun on him

A lot of people are responding to this and saying, oh, not run by them, it must be outsourced to Palantir

And I would lay money that it’s actually one chud who used their personal account to start a Google Sheet (or an Airtable if they’re sophisticated)
Update on the viral video of an ICE agent telling a legal observer that she's going to put in a database and considered a "domestic terrorist."

DHS says in a statement attributed to Tricia McLaughlin (lol) that, "There is NO database of 'domestic terrorists' run by DHS." reason.com/2026/01/23/i...

CECOT has the name recognition but when the next Dem administration gets in there and brings back the survivors, the EG prison is going to be by far the most shocking of all
And here’s an Omni jet landing in Equatorial Guinea yesterday. This is very likely a third-country removal to a torture prison, the second in a week and the third there overall.

Marco Rubio paid off their dictator using humanitarian funds.

“See you in the camps” (laudatory, we should get coffee while we’re in the camps together)
it's not 0% that you're on a list for being active enough on bluesky
I think there's some value in trying to stay off whatever lists the Trump Administration is going to use for whatever but the NIH/NSF experience suggests that the lists they're going to use are vastly stupider than you are capable of anticipating

Fullerton has been the reddest part of CA45 since I've lived in CA. It's sent the likes of Duncan Hunter, Dana Rohrabacher, Michelle Steel to congress. Until 2025, the only Dem to rep it in recent memory was Katie Porter.

Fullerton didn't turn against Republicans for Prop 187, but it is for this.

I think you also need to militarize the border outside of ports of entry as part of getting rid of ICE and CBP. The people doing that work should be under a tight chain of command focused on smuggling interdiction and defense, not random goon shit in the 100-mile buffer zone.

You create a path to citizenship and dramatically loosen policies for formal legal migration, thus regularizing and regulating the immigration flows that otherwise happen under the wire or through the asylum process. The sense of disorder is the central problem people have with the system as it is.
The solution here, again, is to pass a major reform bill that includes a path to citizenship for the undocumented. There may well be a backlash against it. But you do it and hope that the political and economic costs of a reversal are too great for its opponents. That's how major legislation works.
