It seems to me that there was another society that used blood sports to distract an affluent population that had grown complacent on the loot of an empire.

And it was the tourist entrance that he tore down. If you’ve ever walked past the White House from Lafayette Square towards the Mall and the Capitol, that’s the side he tore down.
The new revelations of his employment history and the stuff he attempted to scrub from the internet give the impression that he is a provocateur who was posing as a progressive to actively scam voters into electing him. Thank goodness we have a free press to uncover this stuff.
Holy shit. I mean, I’m sure the Pod Save America guys and/or Bernie Sanders will explain to us why we shouldn’t drive undercover Fascist provocateurs out of the movement, but this looks really really bad y’all.
my partner just came across this on x

platner was working for eric prince as recently as 2018.

during that same time they were also working w/project veritas on infiltrating liberal institutions

“grown in a lab” theory looking more and more likely
His personality changed when he had the stroke. He isn’t the same person anymore. It’s tragic, but that’s what happened.

Cuomo is doing this shit because he thinks the Islamophobic vote can be peeled off from Silwa (sure? maybe?) but seeing as he's almost sure to lose he's just losing in the most disgraceful way possible.
Working, and just going to note my heartfelt loathing of the way California does funding bills. Yes, let’s pass a midnight budget law I had no chance to review in advance that contains all of my mandatory review keywords because your system is a hot mess.
I’m guessing they can’t show that tattoo because the location makes any picture of it a violation of the terms of service?
He’s checking to make sure his son isn’t watching porn, and composing hosannas to the orange god-king. What else would he be doing? His job?

I've received 100+ replies like this, claiming game revenue goes directly to executives & shareholders. So I checked & made this chart.

This is what happens when you buy a $69.99 game from EA, the company with the WORST reputation in the industry.

0.8% goes to c-suite. 53% goes to devs & workers.
I’m most horrified at the thought that this might be to cut off a supply of microchips.
Yes? I mean, it probably shouldn’t be this refreshing to have a politician who just has a moral compass and a set of goals and uses those instead of public polling to decide how to communicate.
Asset forfeiture lawsuits are so strange when you think about them in any depth at all.
Do we always have to have a reason for making things better? Is it ever ok to just make things better because you want things to be better? Why are we required to have a reason? Have we all become this transactional?
I criticize NYT and other media, and always get pushback like "this won't sway voters" and "some words in a headline don't change the world."

I know. I just think they should go a good job for the sake of doing a good job. For truth. For journalism. Even if the impact of improvement would be minor.
They only want the healthy white children to survive. It’s so stupid it makes me want to shake them. That’s not how it works. That’s not how anything works.

Include the link! The fact that bluesky doesn't aggressively suppress links is one of its best features, right up there with the nuclear block. It's great for publishers and also the only way we will ever make progress on the "didn't read past the headline" problem of social media
Love these viral posts that deprive the news org of traffic. So great. www.nbcnews.com/politics/imm...
At least the robots we have to fight for our very survival will be poorly made and sometimes burst into flame spontaneously. Yay?
I guess this is a useful reminder that just because someone seems cool and is saying all the right things doesn’t mean that candidate IS cool and BELIEVES all the right things. Maybe he is a redeemed bigot, maybe not. If I was a Maine voter I wouldn’t take that gamble. There are other good choices.

Generally speaking, it is not a good sign when reporters need to spend this much space explaining all the previous bad things you just did in order to contextualize the new, also-bad thing you did.

I mean, at least the person you resemble sounds like someone cool and well liked.
They are modern snake oil salesmen. They sell Supplements and think they will make lots of money of an ignorant and sick population. Also, eugenics. It’s beyond stupid and I hope they are ultimately arrested and imprisoned for the needless deaths they cause.

Calling it the Epstein Ballroom is disrespectful to the office of the presidency.

I can’t believe people would even dream of calling it the Epstein Ballroom.
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

I love that Cuomo’s attempts to get Sliwa to drop out have turned this race into an escalating series of histrionic statements from world class hater Sliwa about how much Cuomo sucks

Mamdani is going to get 55-60% of the vote and the fallout is going to be tremendous entertainment
