Elon's little serfs are quite literally begging journalists to come back because every publicly available source of data shows people have fled the platform and young people won't use it.

They are literally begging regular people to come back. Don't do it! It is a website by and for actual Nazis!

I feel like I'm going crazy trying to explain to people that it is unhealthy to be infected with any virus.
There are no human viruses that are good for you.
All human viral infections are bad for you.
All viral infections are bad for your health.
I don't know why this is so difficult to understand.

In 1993, Trump signed a mortgage for a Florida home, pledging it would be his principal residence. Seven weeks later, he attested a neighboring property would also be his principal residence.

In reality, he does not seem to have lived in either home.

The Trump administration has argued that Fed board member Lisa Cook may have committed mortgage fraud by declaring more than one primary residence on her loans. We found Trump once did the very thing ...

Medieval landlords regularly collected eels as rent. But they didn't always eat them. Sometimes they bought things w/ their eels.

In the early 1200s the Ramsey monks rented a local causeway at the yearly rate of 1 pair of scarlet pants, 2 pounds of pepper & ginger, & 1,000 eels.

Real “demon pretending to be the ghost of a loved one at the seance” vibes. American fear of death intersects with ghoulish capitalist predation.
I think “speak to your fake dead relative” might be the most evil application of “AI” i’ve seen so far

I say this as someone whose entire job is finding the narrow use cases in which AI is actually useful:

All the fear about AI, all the reluctance to adopt it, is entirely legitimate, and a product of the fact that it's been foisted on the public with no consideration of its negative externalities.
I continue to have no sympathy left for whinging about how the public are rude about AI and feel threatened by it when the biggest players in the AI space have spent years very vocally and constantly *threatening the public*

These poor fools have been taught all their life that gay people are evil. They know that they aren’t evil, so they can’t be gay. The urges they feel must be some sort of attack. Because they aren’t, can’t be, gay.

It would be sad if they weren’t so hateful in their self denial.
PIERS: “You’re not gay?”
FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”

I knew the vax would be rough, I got it on a Friday afternoon with nothing scheduled that weekend. I got the shingles vaccine because my father in law got shingles, and the disease is much, much worse than the vax. The vaccine also has a number of unexpected side benefits, totally worth getting it.
the shingles vax was a bear; only vax I've ever gotten that really knocked me out.

but I know people with shingles. it is a vicious, incredibly painful, brutal, debilitating, and sometimes chronic disease. for the love of god get the shot.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

Inviting masked terrorists to kidnap people from your parking lots and your stores is apparently bad for business. Customers don’t want to be around that or to reward you for enabling it. The people getting kidnapped were also your customers and are staying away. It hurts your sales. Who knew?

My read is that no one is trying to push him out because no one could win the spot without making unacceptable compromises. They all see that it is an impossible job and probably the end point of the holder’s career.

I would still be surprised if he makes it until the midterms, though.
