I think I'm with Fawcett here on this one - Alberta's been frequently drastically overenthusiastic about everyone else's enthusiasm for their (expensive, capital-intensive) oil
I suspect there will be a lot of people lashing out at the Carney government over the MOU that's been leaked today.
I'd encourage them to read this first. The biggest hurdle in the way of a new oil pipeline to the west coast, by far, has yet to be cleared.

I've said this elsewhere, but I firmly believe the driving force of this hype is because we have a century's worth of stories now about talking machines, so when we have machines that talk we default to thinking they work like the stories
