I believe it. I know these people IRL, and it's ruined relationships for me. It's not even about bernie, I just can't trust them if THAT'S their takeaway.

(actually, i guess it is about bernie to them. If he won he'd be viewed the same as obama, and if obama lost they treat him like bernie)

Usually, those are done to personally comfort the creator, and the Internet picks them apart as bad rep (they were never meant to be rep)

Well I mean policing trans bodies, what kinds of shapes they can be. This is so bad with OCs, cause they're personal, and often made with gender non-conforming features the creator shares. Things like a transfem character with a wide jaw, or a transmasc character with feminine fat distribution, etc.

I think there's a subset of trans people who really struggle to differentiate between 'this thing would make me, personally, dysphoric' and 'this is a thing no trans person real or fictional should be portrayed doing' and the fact of the matter is almost nothing fits into the second category.

The sea change of fandom to move from transformative works in private due to copyright lawsuits and queer rep to the hassling creators to enshrine any relationship stuff in canon has been weird (and ironic given IWTV's history specifically)

which is why fandom as a site of exchange between writers and readers/fans is also a site of contestation. some fans really seem to hate the creators of the thing they love, as if they resent their power to impose problems. even when they don't there's for sure a kind of jockeying that goes on
