I know all of us who understand what is happening are experiencing mental health challenges because of that.

The only message of comfort I can offer to this community of readers is this: you are correct.

What you think is happening is really happening, and is just as concerning as you think it is.

Language matters. We must catch the deceptive word choices that the media fails to call out. Presidents do not “appoint” ambassadors. They nominate, and each nominee then undergoes the Senate confirmation process. None of these personnel “appointments” is a done deal yet. Don’t forfeit.

The AI tool for appealing insurance claims seems appropriate since insurance companies use AI to deny your claims. Let the robots fight it out, then speak to someone at your state's insurance oversight department. They're employees who have health insurance, too.

Here’s hoping we also have “a military that is unwilling to kill its own citizens”
something that is especially clear if you have studied colonialism a bit: a load bearing aspect of maintaining even a semblance of democracy (or defending a sitting autocracy from democracy) is having a military that is unwilling to kill its own citizens

Lately that starfish story keeps crossing my mind. The one where someone remarks that tossing stranded starfish back into the sea doesn't make a difference because you can't help them all, to which the kid tosses another and utters the mic drop, "It made a difference to that one." 🧵 1/9

I know some people are afraid to have empathy because they don't know how to close that door once they've opened it. They're afraid of giving more than they can afford or being taken advantage of. But without empathy we can’t address humanity's obscene imbalances. www.esquire.com/news-politic...

I’m saying it now with hopes that it sinks in: Donald Trump cannot take any oath of office until he is granted amnesty for breaking the last one he swore. That’s just straight up in the Constitution. 2/3 of each House. That’s the bar.

When we were children, we were taught that no matter how you reached, no matter much wealth and power you accumulated, you were not above the law.

We can no longer teach our children that.

And that's really fucking tragic.
