I think one of the biggest cleavages in our society that no one talks about is the division between those that think powerful people must be held to a higher standard than non-powerful people and those who think powerful people should be flattered and sucked up to.

Lawyers have in their code of ethics a "duty of candor" meaning basically that it is unethical to lie even by mistake and you can lose your license over it. Cops have no such duty and are happy to lie all the time. Popular media portrays one of these groups as untrustworthy scumbags. Not that one!

It is. And I forgot I wanted to post about an ep of The Mysterious Traveler that riffs/rips off Fourble Board, especially the wrap-up. "Behind The Locked Door" first aired in 1949, Fourble in 1948. It's worth a listen, there's some creepy, pulpy stuff in there.

We moved back to Houston from Dallas earlier this year and yeah, it sucked hard. But the only way is through. I just kept telling myself that once the day came we'd be ready because there wasn't another choice and then it would be over. I would like to never do it again, though, please

At a press conference today, the mayor of Everett said there was a knife found in the child’s possession but *no* gun. I followed up with ICE and asked if they stand by the screenshot shared yesterday. Spokesperson said DHS was working on a response. Five hours later, still nothing.
