Yeah my wokest and/or most autistic take is I refuse to believe ppl mad about immigration are not racist, just firm believers in rules, until they say 10 speeding tickets should get you sent to CECOT to be raped and tortured. Hell speeding endangers others, it'd be a slightly less dumb belief.
That and we are just strangely accepting of people that don't follow laws that were put there explicitly for public safety.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

The adamant lack of interest in Trump-Epstein connections from parts of the right that frequently express concern about Jeffrey Epstein, sexual deviancy, elite-protecting cover-ups, etc. is perhaps the single best example showing how they’re entirely devoid of any principle besides us-them.

So far Musk and Trump have killed 300,000 ppl with USAID cuts. That's more than the first three years of the invasion of Iraq by most measures. I worry it'll get lost cos it means admitting that a hypocritical neoliberal US actually is different from a GOP fascist US but holy fuck it shouldn't

Watching all these finance "professionals" put their blind faith in Trump cos they were excited to get those uppity women and minorities back in their place makes me torn between going even further left on economics and wishing we had capitalists who were actually soulless machines maximising profit
again, that their cultural and political preferences made them massively misread an obvious threat - one so obvious that Trump himself said it over and over - should cause people to rethink trusting them with their money in the first place
