It’s nerve wracking making a video of yourself and putting it out there, but I wanted to try making something out of all the random clips I took of the public bus system in Bangalore. Hope you enjoy! It was fun to make.

One way to improve fare compliance on the First Hill Streetcar would be to put ORCA readers onboard. Right now there is one at each station, and they’re usually far from the platform edge. I see a lot of people run up before it departs and skip paying because they’d miss the streetcar if they did.

Seattle’s long transit nightmare is finally coming to an end. Huge kudos to the advocacy of @fixthel8.bsky.social
The second item: "We're going to be getting out the red paint on Denny Way," Wilson said. "We cannot let one of our highest ridership routes languish in traffic." Bus lane inbound.

Katie Wilson's team is promising "significant announcements" on transit and homelessness at the transition team meeting happening this morning. @theurbanist.org will be on the scene.

This will not end with law enforcement enforcing the law.

This will end with millions of individual people standing up and saying no and ultimately defunding the fascists, both in government and business.

I love seeing little improvements like this little bulb for reducing the turn radius pop up overnight. Thanks SDOT! This makes the bike lane substantially safer by turning cars to be perpendicular to people on bikes as they turn.

The people working for ICE only exist in their bubble where consequences increasingly do not exist. The thing is, consequences do exist. But in their bubble they are just excited to produce images that showcase their power against libs. It's their "we've won" moment. But it's very temporary.
They know they are producing these images and want to be. Again, either they want to escalate violence or they do not understand humans or both.

They are unlawfully detaining people for First Amendment protected activities, as far as I can tell. Dragging people out of their vehicles absent witnessing a crime and without a judicial warrant is repugnant to our constitutional order.
New video shows ICE agents detaining a US citizen legal observer in Minneapolis.

The agents smashed his car window, dragged him out, and placed a knee on his neck.

These videos just make them look evil. ICE is not going to last long behaving like this. The regime is going to speedrun its own end with this stuff. It's just chaotic, disorganized brutality that no one will see and think is right.
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

what this should make clear to everyone in this country is that it does not matter who you are, there's no "it could never happen to me"

you can be a white woman who drives around with stuffed animals in her car, and they will still kill you in cold blood and call you a domestic terrorist
The murdered woman's glove compartment is filled with stuffed animals.

We cannot let this president drag us into more endless wars that risk the lives of American service members and civilians abroad.

The attack last night on Venezuela was unnecessary and unauthorized. The President’s actions are reckless and illegal.

The new mayor should not be inaugurated until the AG can find them in a citywide game of hike and seek.
That the mayor of NYC has to by law sworn in at Midnight NYE is hilarious, dumb and frankly awesome. It should be the job of the state AG to track down the new Mayor at some mysterious location in the 5 Boros as soon after midnight as possible.

I'll get into CTR law in a second but this is also one of those extremely shortsighted things employers pull on employees. If you have 100 employees in the most expensive Seattle zone, your cost to give them all full-ride ORCA cards is: $48,936.

Per year.

At most.
My employer took away our Orca, and said that our part-time remote work agreement satisfies CTR so thus no need for them to pay for Orca. Now my coworkers + I are afraid to push for transit passes because they might take away the remote work policy. So everyone drives to work three days a week now.

I want @sound-transit.bsky.social to give us updates on ORCA card projects like they do with infrastructure construction projects. I don't understand why we have to rely on rumors from Reddit comments to learn that things like Apple Wallet integration is cancelled. www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/co...

I'm not saying that "the truth is always in the middle" or people should be forced to debate everything. But surely we can recognize that we are drawn to ideas that flatter our preexisting beliefs, and that this creates extraordinary dangers for understanding the world, no matter how smart you are.

Why is SPD intimidating taco vendors
Taco Stand on Northgate was back open tonight. As I went we watch SPD go around in circles and turns on their sirens a few times. What is this? This seems very strange if they’re doing something wrong then talk to them. This felt like intimidation

The people doing this to other humans need to go to prison.
Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.
