A long time ago I learned that in Greenland communities, it's socially embarrassing for adults to even raise their voices at kids when the children are misbehaving because only children have so little control over their emotions and I still think about it a lot.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

America's Test Kitchen has been my go-to for years now! The recipe developers do lots of science (which you can read if you like or skip right to the recipe) and they include photos and illustrations which are really helpful. They help me understand not just what to do but why to do it.
