Also there is a theoretical ceiling to how many times you can get value from pull a shiny waifu for most game, whereas gambling and TCG card the mechanical limit for gains is infinite. You can always hit the jackpot again or pull another 10 ultra rare shiny cards from the pack.

yeah I think the expectation of long tail service on most games is not really sustainable for most games, and I think expansion packs/sequels is probably more tenable and probably healthier.

But a lot of people now are used to free content you don't have to pay for.

Hey now I play HOI4 multiplayer but refuse to play anything but democracies because I think fascists are boring.

The only time I played germany I spent 4 years staring at the espionage screen and czechoslovakia trying to do some cute thing and I still don't know how so many people can be so bad.

This also ignores his stated platform, which calls both for more "border security" (i.e. more ice agents lmao) and also a desire for tax breaks to smaller businesses which is always sus.

He also said he voted for Collins in 2020 which I think damages his branding significantly in itself.

Sure, he said now that he wants to increase border security (which is more ICE agents lmao) and he wants to tax cut the small business class. Both are policy positions mentioned in his campaign material.

Yeah, Collins has managed to pull wins 6 terms in a row because maine voters are increasingly insane (Platner said he voted for Collins in 2020!) and as far as somebody with any sort of name recognition that probably has a chance and probably doesn't have a nazi tattoo, popular governor works.
