If every one of my 3000+ followers could give Désirée $2, she'd exceed her goal for getting safe housing. I know that everyone won't see this, but if you do see it and have $5 or a bit more to spare, please consider it.

I desperately want the shingles vax even though I'm "too young." Had chicken pox at 14 (unvaccinated--it was so rare at the time that the doctor called all their staff over to see what it looked like). Got a staph infection because of the open wounds. Staph infection gave me permanent nerve damage.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

The white & classist oppression of many "COVID-cautious" people also helped push a mask bloc cofounder into houselessness. It's been almost a year & things haven't improved.

They could use financial support ($ app: $PoetJaleane) if you're willing to share.

The Black, trans, disabled cofounder of a mask bloc is houseless & isolated. They've been sleeping in freezing cold for over a week & are running out of options.

Below is a link to a non-amazon wishlist that also has methods for donating $. Are you willing to share/boost?

For context Chalder was one of the primary investigators on the infamous PACE graded exercise therapy trial.

She spent her career focusing on psychosocial factors with #MECFS and believes you can treat it with CBT.

She now has a study on #LongCovid showing up on Visible.
1️⃣ Visible Health has launched a local clinical trial feature. One of the first surfacing to users is an ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) trial led by Trudie Chalder, a researcher whose work has been highly controversial in ME. This raises important patient-safety concerns.

I have felt like vomiting every day for over a month, lost so much weight trapped in the yt racist, physical violence of Karen Traite & Joe Levy, whose initial offer to stay I declined.

But their abuse violence shame is not mine to hold.

Esmé, I am sorry I couldn’t get you out of there sooner.

I believe @sndesireecha.bsky.social is spot-on in her critique of the covid-cautious community here. A huge percentage of these people (many of whom are white, and all of whom I presume are housed) are really only interested in masking etc. as a way to protect themselves and their nuclear families.
Please read this full thread, donate to Désirée's GFM if you can, and show up for your homeless neighbors.

This is another blatant instance of a disabled, covid-cautious POC being offered housing by white people and then violently abused and made homeless again. It has to stop.

Malone is now talking about the role of undocumented migrants in spreading measles.

There is no evidence of this. I am disgusted. The measles outbreak is American-grown due to declining vaccination coverage in response to disinformation.
