someone just asked me to repost this as I just dropped off my old & insufficient Mazda 3 at the shop for repairs. If someone in NE has a dog-friendly, winter-ready car they aren’t using that I could use including for rapid response (& potentially live in) that would be incredibly helpful.
i thought it was the (expired) medicine I tried to take to sleep that was bringing the nightmares

but I stopped taking the medicine and the nightmares are still here

it’s the inaction
i’m pleading for a job, a role, a usefulness

in tonight’s nightmare i prayed
across a gulf
as the bombs went off
as they took some of us

i didn’t know the language
but i followed the woman leading us, i kept praying

there was not enough bread,
some made soap, for later

it was a break from what
we are enduring

The @medillschool.bsky.social was silent as 200+ journalists were murdered in Gaza, was silent as their own students were threatened w beating by police, then suspended me and denied me tenure for standing w the students. It is not a journalism school, it is a school for teaching cowardice & fascism

We are missing an opportunity by not talking about what is going on at the business schools at places like Columbia and Northwestern.

There is a whole field of critical management scholarship that was wiped out as it was beginning in the US less than 15 years ago. It needs to be nourished.

you can call it a residential center, low-threshold housing, a treatment center — but if you don’t have the freedom to leave, it’s jail

get the cop out of your head
get the cop out of so-called healing spaces

So much work requires eating meals together without proper sick time, comprehensive healthcare, air filtration, regular testing for airborne illnesses. People in hiring roles don’t even see it as an excluding factor — they often see it as a perk. A role I’m applying for includes it as compensation

Every day, every second we breathe, is a chance to treat Palestinian life and survival with urgency. Six families & a camp need still-life-or-death:

- Food
- Shelter
- Blankets
- Newborn supplies

Click "weekly" on a coffee. It helps enormously. chuffed.org/project/hope...
Keep Hope Alive: a Gaza Giving Circle
We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK, led by two sisters passionate about helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We saw that…

Now I’m lying here in this little pretend environment I’ve built to try to self-recover post people debating starving me in public. Can I drink the tea I poured myself hours ago? Will I be able to walk my dog in 4 hours? Make it to the pharmacy in 5? Then wait in a line to get electrolytes.

Some of you are worrying about retirement still and I’m worrying about dying of sepsis from a broken tooth. These cross-class convos are hard, and often not serious.

We’re not all the same.
I’m from a poor family where people die young.
The past 5 years without healthcare do not separate me fr my birth family.

My whole life as an organizer I’ve been surrounded by middle class people with many living relatives. This is my last campaign. Literally, use me.

I filled out the (insecure) vetting form for the third time tonight. I’ve been vouched for. 30 years of experience and organizing homes — painstakingly detailed.

I have 3 months of housing.
They are taking our neighbors.

I say: USE ME NOW.

It’s my nightmare
It’s happening

The problem with fetishizing the rule of law is that people have to break the law to resist fascism, state violence, and oppression. This has always been true, and is very much the case RIGHT NOW.

I’m going to drill down on the math but hybrid jobs (3 days in office) paying $45K/year and requiring statewide travel seem hazardous. In Maine.

Thoughts? #mepolitics

I just gave a Mainer a bunch of the Maine/MA interlocks — and there are many.

I know too much.

For all of the RTO and other folks — know there are a significant number of us basically on standby. We could die of poverty and we keep applying for the same remote jobs and/or at the 2-ish orgs that acknowledge airborne illnesses
There are a group of us who have taken COVID precautions since March 2020 and are ready to be tagged in if others will also take precautions. We need to think about disability justice and inclusion frameworks differently
November 29, 2025 at 1:46 AM
Some of us are ready to do the work.
And I don't know if the answer is: everyone is too traumatized to do work and we need to reinvent society. Or if it's more like: generations are losing their cognitive abilities and willpower due to destructive technologies. Or: we all have post-viral brain damage. Or: all of the above.

i hope everyone who teaches leadership at Northwestern (Kellogg) is prepared to devote next semester to critiquing the way their administration is failing because as a former leadership prof that’s the shadow syllabus I would be prepping right now

This is not the country we want to live in. This is not the administration we want in charge of policy.

How about you?
November 29, 2025 at 12:44 AM
This is factually inaccurate. Being anti-trans does not advance “human understanding.”

Shame on Northwestern.
Shame on every administrator and board member who had a part in this. Everyone has agency.
BREAKING: Northwestern University has agreed to pay the U.S. Treasury $75 million, over the course of three years as part of an agreement with the federal government to restore funding and end investigations into the university

You can't fight fascist systems by using the same system that got us here. The system is broken. It cannot be fixed because it's working as designed.

It must be torn down and rebuilt equitably. Anything less than that is a return to targeted subjugation of Black and Brown people.

This is the most complicated time of my life. There are calls where I show up for young (and sometimes elder) organizers with clear advice formed over 30 years of organizing, study, mistake-making & muddling through

And I’m physically & emotionally on a dangerous edge

We need to do this together
People are struggling. I want us to think about how we're going to help each other hang in there this winter. How are you going to support your friends, co-strugglers, and community as they push through this moment? How can you help people muddle through, materially and/or emotionally?

WASHINGTON DC

A cold alert has been activated for today through tomorrow morning.

With consent, call the shelter hotline to have folks transported to an open shelter bed or warming center — 202-399-7093 or 311.

Give folks cash, hand warmers, blankets, sleeping bags, hats/scarves/gloves.
