I've advocated the dismantlement of DHS since the degeneration of Secret Service became clear during Obama's presidency. Every DHS agency uniformly worse-more incompetent, more poorly trained, more thuggish, and more dangerous to liberty-than it was. Until now, USCG was the least-damaged.

But my takeaway from a decade in the federal space, much of it with DHS, is that splitting one job among a bunch of agencies fails and so does splitting one agency among a bunch of unrelated missions
