and idk if it's just me coming to the episode as a trans person but the whole thing just smells of rick berman's anti queer edicts all over that era of trek, and it's awful to think that this person wouldn't have died had archer didn't care so much about his personal image.

they knew very little about this new species and trip could have done more to educate himself on the matter before teaching the cogenitor how to read and such, but he literally had it tested and proved that the third species is mentally the same, and the whole episode they treat it as an object.

fuck captain archer, easily the worst captain.

forgot how awful the episode Cogenitor is and how gross it makes me feel. trip did nothing wrong and archer's dumb ass has done far worse cultural snafus and it's played as a fucking laugh.
