Also my video also made a point to acknowledge how broken the music industry and Touring is. Really, I shouldn’t need to hustle an apparel company based around my music to make a tour breakeven. I wish more focus was put on how to fix that vs trying to play devils advocate lol

It’s just annoying that people want “artist to be compensated for their work” but when artist say what needs to be done for that to happen, the response is always an excuse. I don’t expect 100% of everyone to buy my shit. But we don’t always need to make an excuse lol

I just try to offer perspective. We had lots of unexpected expenses come up this year that left me personally and as a band in debt. When I play shows, that merch money can’t pay down that debt because it’s paying for the current tour lol. I don’t think people realize this

Which like it’s not making that cost go away. The cost just lands on us on tour. It really sucks selling a fuck ton of merch and 100% of that money goes toward gas companies and toll roads and van rental companies. Yes it’s worth it to have the experience of playing live. 2 truths can exist at once
