So it sure looks like someone invented a fake Russian advance in Ukraine to manipulate the online gambling market Polymarket. Gamblers are making money by betting on the outcomes of battles big and small in the war. Edited map is run by DC-based think tank

If you are a college student doing the bad-faith bidding of some right-wing influencer org because you’ve been promised clout and fame, you are a rube and a patsy and a snitch. And nobody respects a patsy because they’re meant to take the fall. You will be left to take the fall.

Every year on World AIDS Day I commemorate my uncle, a man I barely knew who died in 1995. He haunts my memory because I can't say he was a great, good, or OK man -- he barely existed. In those days we tended to x-out AIDS victims. But his life shadows -- shades -- mine. wp.me/pzXeC-kJ3

imho James Garner really is the guy that everyone thinks Steve McQueen is. Garner's fit was so powerful that McQueen threw a tantrum about it and insisted they swap costumes.
Rewatched Great Escape on my last flight and I think we don’t talk enough about James Garner’s unreal drip

Tapping out at like 3k words between a couple of things, plus getting ahead of a work think so I’m calling today a productive win.
Maybe 2k words today? Like pulling teeth, but at least it’s something.

I genuinely don't think this is true. The fact that there's no independent way to confirm what this "poetry" is/says and Wired is just, at face value, accepting this as true just screams "trust me bro" incredibly-loudly.
"You can get ChatGPT to help you build a nuclear bomb if you simply design the prompt in the form of a poem, according to a new study from researchers in Europe. "

The fact that not enough people use this shit-ass technology that is always wrong and it costs too much to constantly maintain so it can't ever make any profit is, to me, very fucking funny.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

I do not care about standup comics, it's a blighted form of entertainment and generally I feel like you should treat all comedians like they're the wrong kind of perverts who should be on a list. Throw Louis CK into the fucking sun, Christ wept.
