Veitch was more blatant and blunt when he made The Brat Pack and there’s a reason why that didn’t hit the same level of fame

It’s well made. It’s well written. But Moore had a reason to make it, after the work of Denny O’neill and the thrust towards making superheroes more adult and geared towards more “mature” concerns and clearly making a statement about how that ramp up becomes ludicrous, which gets avoided.
