It's been a weird morning.

Yesterday morning a neighbourhood cat caught a pigeon in the garden. Interrupted, he fled.

The bird remained. Bleeding, wing broken, huddling beneath a patio table. Blinking in pain.

By afternoon the pigeon was gone. The cat returned. Prowling, proud. Only blood and feathers to tell of what had happened.

This morning the bird was back. I watched through the kitchen window as it limped up the garden path, escorted by another pigeon. The other would hop a few steps, then wait, watching. Take your time, it seemed to say. I'm here.

Halfway up the path they paused, interlocked beaks. I watched their heads bob. Were they fighting? Kissing? They part.

The healthy bird hopped into the tall grass, pecked at the ground. Returned to the path with a broken acorn in its beak. They locked beaks again. Pieces of acorn rained to the ground. The healthy bird bent down, plucked them from the ground, fed them to the other, a piece at a time.

They continued their slow progress up the path. More birds gathered on the fences, either audience or guard or both.

My tea grew cold on the countertop.

This is "debanking", and its a problem that has plagued sex workers for decades. It isnt right when its targetting sex workers and its not right when its targetting game devs and creators either.

I develop adult video games on Steam. I can't find a bank that will actually let me withdraw my money from Steam. Can I get some advice?
Game has sold quite well on Steam. I've got almost £90,000 ready to withdraw after Steam's cut + VAT taken off.

However, it's been 2 months now and I can't find ANY bank in the UK who will let me withdraw my money from Steam.

I've been banned/refused/unable to get a business account with:

Wise
Revolut
Monzo
Monese
Chase
Starling
Nationwide
Halifax
Barclays
Lloyds
RBS

It always comes down to, "Where did you get this money from?"

"It's coming from games I sell on Steam."

"Can we see the store page?"

"Sure."

"I'm sorry, we can't do business with you at this time."

It keeps coming down to a commercial decision purely because I make adult content.

What the hell am I supposed to do? I've pretty much exhausted the whole banking system. I just want to be able to be paid for products I've sold.

The Vodafone outage today means I've lost an entire day of work (couldn't stream and the current contract I have uses Google Drive). I'm trying not to panic at the delay to any future payouts this has caused.

Your circumstance and goal has nothing to do with whether you are allowed to use anyone's art.

Today, Freya experienced a sudden medical crisis. I found her lying limp and barely responsive. When we got her to the vet, her pulse, BP, and blood sugar were all dangerously low. Vet said if we'd waited an hour, she might not have survived.
