I often complain about NYT headlines and story-play. But these are strong. Including "If Court Guts 1965 Law."

Hi there. We're the Republican Party. Our policies are such that without voter suppression, gerrymandering and a gutting of civil rights legislation, we couldn't stay in power. And, oh yeah, if you do somehow manage to win an election on the merits, we won't swear you in to serve.

The Civil Rights Act of 1866 literally says that all persons “can “make and enforce contracts, to sue, be parties, give evidence, and to the full and equal benefit of all laws and proceedings for the security of persons and property as is enjoyed by white citizens.”

The toy fair's organizers didn't see it that way.
It turns out Celia, 13, and Olivia, 10, are too young to attend. Citing a longstanding policy, organizers of American International Toy Fair said it does not allow anyone under 18 to enter the conference, which ended yesterday in New York.
The girls said they are baffled by the policy.
"I don't think it's very fair," Olivia said in an interview yesterday. "We are managing our own business."
