I don't want to be sentimental and I'm very bad at goodbyes: I guess if you know me then you know what I'm like.

If you're ever in trouble or in for making trouble hit me up: fuck it's not supposed to be this hard but yea...

You know where to find me: it's not tricky for anyone with 2 brain cells.

Just a reminder that evidence shows that in-person socialising of kids is only 10 minutes per day less today than it was 25 years ago. Social media use largely comes out of kids' solitary time, not as an alternative to traditional socialising.

This is the same dude who's party just made it legal to jail underage kids for life for violent crime because it's 'getting that bad' in Melbourne.

Where the fuck are they meant to be hanging out, mate? Pick a lane.

The child lack of socialisation panic is wild when you take even a moment to think about what the life of a teenager is like; it's literally the time in your life you spend the most face to face time with your friends! It really doesn't feel like even 5 minutes thought has gone into this.

simply meet up in real life, that thing it is extremely easy to do as a child too young to drive who may well live in a place with no easy public transport access

but hey it's not like any children have unsupportive or controlling parents who might limit their access, right?

And besides, the entire fucking point of parenting is teaching them to do dangerous things safely. Support and supervision gradually tapering off until they don't need it any more.

Not a total lack of experience or guidance followed by boom good luck kid.

Today’s report confirms what any JobSeeker already knows: the ‘mutual obligations’ system is pointless, cruel, and rather than helping people, treats people on income support as disposable

F*CK the Australian government and all MPs and Senators who voted for this legislation.
v1.111 is live today!

We've upgraded our Age Assurance system to comply with upcoming laws in Australia and other regions, and to restore access to people over 18 in Mississippi.

Plus, we fixed some bugs and laid the groundwork for improved "who to follow" suggestions in the near future.

They are doing “we need age checks and to give Elon Musk your govt IDs” to protect the children!!! from the anti-Zionist Transgender internet because parents and society can’t be normal about not ruining children’s lives under the productive economy of capitalism, and school must be run as a prison.

However, I don't think the parties would have colluded to pass the ban if they really thought there were a reasonable prospect of its being immediately overturned, so it would be safest to assume that we will be in this for the long haul regardless.

P.S. For the record, the Act may face challenges in court:

— Google indicated it would sue the Australian Government if the Government included YouTube in the ban, which the Government subsequently said it would do. No confirmation of what action Google will now take.

For anyone else in Australia:

I am not a lawyer, but to my understanding, it is currently legal to use VPNs to circumvent this ban and there are no penalties for doing so. There may be later, but this is the state of affairs as it stands.
Tomorrow, 10 December 2025, the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth) s 63E(2) will take effect. It will require social media platforms to take measures to ensure that they do not host accounts belonging to Australians under 16 years old. It will require them to do so by collecting Australian users' ID.

I left home at 13 and quickly learnt who to avoid, the idea that teenagers can't navigate the online landscape is deranged.

The senile cunts who designed this stunt to further isolate and predate kids from vulnerable minorities and progress their political careers should have their throats slit. :3

The funniest thing about nuking Twitter is that it's so broken it tries to divert you to a dodgy url which presumably someone has bought out after they stopped maintaining shit and I'd imagine use for phishing.

So fucking typical.

This law is not about protecting children. It ignored all warnings from actual experts that it was dangerous to children to isolate them in that way, that it cut vulnerable kids from their support networks, that it enables CHILD ABUSE.

You don't know shit and are an old man yelling at clouds.
