Hong Kong Phooey was the finest children's cartoon ever broadcast. It's a crying shame that they only made 16 episodes.

Chekhov's Howitzer states that if a Howitzer is introduced in act one, it should be fired in act two.

Chekov's Howitzer was only deployed once, in 1982, during an off Broadway reworking of Death of a Salesman. And never again, due to the massive loss of life...

Watched Aussie zombie comedy “little monsters” the other night and there’s a line near the end that has really stuck with me. Can’t stop thinking about how the US soldier in charge, about to meet worried parents asks “is this the good or bad news room?”

We don’t see the bad news room.

Going to repost, even though most of the people who directly follow me have probably already seen this. Ed (leadmojo head honcho) is trying something different to get audio comedy made and it needs a sizeable number of sponsors.

So the funding meter looks a bit daunting, but it gets better with YOU
Today's Smelt post: hey, you liked Ghosts, right? And you like Cunk? Well, Ben Willbond (Ghosts) and Joel Morris (Cunk) want to make a sitcom together. We can't afford to make it without your help. So why not chuck us a tenner plus fees, so we can make it?

In April 1976, in a café at Cambridge railway station, Douglas Adams bought some biscuits. We know this because he told the story so many times that it somehow opened up a wormhole in the space-time continuum, travelling both forwards and backwards and, intriguingly, sideways in time. (1/some...)

Just seen a Samsung ad where a photographer lights a scene with a drone and then “uses generative AI to remove the drone lights”

Dude it’s some white lines in the pitch black sky. I could remove them on my phone with a finger painting app.

Offloading scaffold from the van my colleague hands me two poles, saying “Jousting Sticks”

“How much does he want for them?”
“450”
“For jousting sticks? Tell him he’s dreaming”

Picked up a rental van this evening from a sub basement car park with a power outage, so it was pitch black down there. Super fun negotiating a very cramped space full of concrete columns in a big unfamiliar vehicle in the dark.

Five things the film “Is This Thing On?” gets wrong about the world of stand up.
Stand-up comedy is not about constantly talking about your feelings; if it was-why would straight men be so successful at it?

One of the renderfarm machines died due to memory errors. We isolated the sticks responsible, but it’s nearly £500 to replace them.

Considering selling off the ram from the whole farm to re-buy later :)
