Covid isn’t over. And each infection damages the brain. Especially the parts that manage empathy and decision making.
Once you know that it’s easy to see what is happening and it’s terrifying.

The Tasmanian government could not prepare a clean arse strategy that I would believe in for one second.
Sigh. “Please” not “lease”. Why would you lease photos of yourself.
FFS autocarrot.
There is nothing wrong with any shaped face and yours is a delight.
Lease don’t hate photos of yourself. It’s such a waste. One day you will wake up and be 62 and wonder why you don’t have more photos of yourself young, happy self.
Do the photos!
Dear “considerably more informed”,
Immediate impacts of infection may well be declining. That does not mean the disease is “comparable” with other viruses.
Death is not the only outcome.

So, really, masking is a stop gap solution, until such time as rational public health education and wide scale mitigation kicks in. I don’t think anyone really likes to mask. But in many cases, this is the only available, rational response to an irrational and frankly irresponsible negation of harm.
I note you have supplied exactly zero studies that show Covid exposure and infection is harmless, or even low risk.
Thats interesting, isn’t it?
And no one wants to mention it in public either.
Diane Keaton died of pneumonia.
Dolly Parton may be very ill.
But no one mentions the “C”.
This! Deciding that YOU can take the risk of other people getting sick is NOT morally neutral. It’s individualistic and egocentric.
The “collective good” requires all of us to take care of each other. Governments have ditched us. We only have each other.
#WearAMask
it’s also so ridiculous.

pretend getting other people sick is morally irrelevant, a completely neutral act.

would YOU still want to risk getting a bunch of new, energy-limiting chronic illnesses? most of which have no cures, and which no one is going to meaningfully help you survive having?
“And how DARE you ask me to do so? “
And, as I quickly found, the LAST thing these people want is science.
When I offered links to actual studies I was told I was just a horrible person and “unpleasant”.
#MaskingForeverIfNecessary.
The truth is ugly. Ignoring the science is stupid. Take your pick.
My god, what an infuriating thread full of selfish entitled arseholes. I started trying to explain but I got real angry, real quick. Eugenics United FFS.
I’m just gonna block I think.
It’s not the “lockdowns,” or at least that shouldn’t be our primary concern now. It’s the effects of the virus itself, which is a harder fact for people to face. Since there are no mitigations in society, new cases of cognitive dysfunction from COVID happen everyday. It’s not over.

Two new high-profile studies add to the increasingly worrisome picture of how even mild cases of COVID-19 can have detrimental effects on brain health.

Maybe you are confused because repeat infections have damaged your brain?
It’s pretty damn likely.

You can turn the article count off but they still try and guilt you.
I hate it.
Just sheer vindictiveness at this point.
I laughed out loud at the mental image of a gormless collagen molecule looking confused 😆
I’m glad it (finally) went well.
Wishing you both peace and strength.
Oh you’ve just reminded me that I have this.

New study just dropped linking shingles reactivation and dementia risk.

You know what reactivates shingles? Covid.

Want to avoid it? Wear a well fitted respirator and give yourself the best odds of avoiding Covid infection.

There’s also a shingles vaccine which may help reduce risk!
Who ARE these incredibly tone-deaf, privileged as fuck, wankers?

Mine is “can I afford the life I have?”

But also “am I allowed a life?”
