And you’d be lucky if 10c in the dollar went to the people those charities say they are raising money for. Most of it goes to pay executives, call centre workers, professional fundraisers and for the advertising itself. These are businesses. It’s a rort.

Yes. In 1979 we had “jobs day” for seniors in our working class high school which consisted of army, navy, Air Force recruiters and one lone accountant from BHP. 😂

I worked for Centrelink for over a decade. There may well be a “small group” of people who have no intention of ever working. But it’s very very small. Most people who have trouble meeting obligations are unwell in some way or have real issues that need addressing before they can work.
