Since there is a new Dracula that is apparently pursuing the "tragic lost love" backstory, I want to talk about my favorite Drac, which is Louis Jourdan in the 1977 BBC miniseries COUNT DRACULA.

We're doing a mystery film screening tomorrow at @allgoodbookshop.co.uk! It's free to attend, we'll have a bar, and here's a clue - Quentin Tarantino described this film as one of the greatest directorial debuts of all time.

My Mystery Talk went well! The literal hours of practice were worth it!

But what was it actually about?

Well, what can I talk about in detail for 20ish minutes without any notes?

To give you an idea of how deranged the UK has become about gender stuff, here's Enid Blyton - the absolute avatar of classic English conservatism and a huge fan of racist "gollywogs" - casually describing a gender non-conforming kid in the 1940s and having their friends be totally cool with it.

Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?

Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.

The game you are about to play is a product of its time. It may depict the PS3, which was commonplace in society. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today.

HMRC somehow classified me as a Share Fisherman. I called them up and they have officially agreed that I am no longer a Share Fisherman. But somehow, I have been recorded as one at some point despite never having caught a fish. Another dream gone.

Very much looking forward to this tonight. Just had slides through from @nickbryan.com and it's looking like a very fun talk.
This Friday, we're doing another Mystery Talks session at @allgoodbookshop.co.uk! The last two were packed out, so well worth getting tickets. The concept is simple! Two speakers ... but you only find out the topics once the talks begin.

I sometimes get videos for those weird suit-fetishists on Insta who bang on about how to do things with authority and masculinity - each one has the same format, of showing something a 'weak' way, then waving a finger at the camera before showing the 'strong' way with a thumbs up.

I have no interest in a killer bed film but glad it got out there eventually.

So, you have a logo.

I want you to run it through these tests, to see if it's an effective logo, or just a nice illustration.

Because I see so many people who reveal logos for their new, exciting thing ... and it's not fit for purpose.
And you'll learn that hard way if you don't check.

If you're in climate comms and you're not already splicing these words with images of the climate disasters the people of this country endure every damn day then what are you waiting for?
Q: What do you tell Americans who are concerned that repealing the endangerment finding comes at a host to public health and the environment based on science?

TRUMP: I tell them don't worry about it. This was all a scam. They'll have more money to spend for healthcare.
