No surprise on this announcement- undoubtedly supported by coal sourced energy.
Blue states not to stop sending tax dollars to the U.S. Treasury unless Trump reverses this and other purely politically motivated decisions. @governor.ca.gov

Among the reasons Americans risked it all to get rid of a tyrannical king:

New Global Tipping Points report from Lenton et al is out.

I haven't had a chance to digest all of it, but reading through the summary recommendations, it strikes me that the concept of 'tipping points' is needed for for very few of them --

Agreed - he was solid against the Yankees. Too many of the Jays look like they’re trying to hit homers - Clement wasn’t like that against the Yanks but tonight he’s been flying out a lot.

When a poll is run & we're asked to prioritize different issues, and climate change and the economy are both listed, it sends the message that we can only fix only one of those issues, not both.

IMO, that's one of the reasons climate change is never prioritized. Immediacy will always be a priority
If we could get China to use Canadian parts, or build some in Canada then it’s a definite yes to drop tariffs.
The press ask these lay-up question like its a normal thing - "do you intend to implement the Insurrections Act", next up "do you plan to suspend the 2026 elections in blue states?, do you plan to jail Bernie Sanders", "are you running in 2028" - they are normalizing unconstitutional activity.

How Canada got immigration right for so long – and then got it very, very wrong
Canadian immigration was stable, popular and uncontroversial. But a series of changes after 2015 broke the national consensus, and the system

Why would we want clean energy that would power almost 2M homes when we can continue to drill for dirty oil and coal and line the pockets of big business?

Thanks - have to admit I reacted to the tweet - didn’t delve into the content. I’m sure he is aware- would like to see him get angrier - more outspoken.
Given what is happening in your country this is pretty tone deaf.
Merrick Garland, Scotus and Republican leadership are responsible for the mess the U.S. is in.
All major projects should be on the table - and subject to the same type of cost/benefit analysis. We can't fall into a trap about making this just about a pipeline - which our media seems to be doing.
