Everyone hate-sharing that Arash Azizi "I'm so socialist I don't think companies should be able to fire employees who shout slurs at people" article, stop.

Discuss it if you want. But don't feed it clicks

Mark is mad that he will have to compete for appointments and poor people won't just die already
Are you ok with rich people having access to the most expensive doctors and hospitals and you don't because the gov won't pay for it or they opted out of the Universal care program ?

Do you think it's right for doctors and nurses to only work for what they think is a living wage ?
December 12, 2025 at 12:48 AM
seriously, this guy is an idiot
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

look, i'm on the record arguing the global wine glut could be a net positive for the us trade in the long term thanks to how it is lowering start-up costs and other barriers to entry for a new generation of winemaker-entrepreneurs. [stephen a smith voice] HOWEVER

Don't turn around, oh
Der pencil guy's in town, oh
Kommissar is pleased to announce generous allocation of two pencils per child. Thank the kommisar for his bounty!
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

Folks, the trillions they hope to save is from people dying
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

A lot of people in the replies are bringing up correlation/causation, but that's missing the point. The question is about rates *changing*, not levels
FOX: Are data centers jacking up rates on everyday Americans?

BURGUM: 100% false

FOX: Why?

BURGUM: The highest electric prices in this country are Hawaii and Maine, and there are no data centers there

Does not finishing a movie count? Walked out of Very Bad Things
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

I prefer to read this as a recent rule change
I’ve worked in public libraries for 20 years, today was the first time we’ve had to tell someone they couldn’t bring their chainsaw in the library.

Mark Cuban supports the use of tools that are known to make use of CSAM material in their training (all AI models have scraped this stuff).

Why is abuse of children not a red line for Mark?
Then ask the same questions to the other free AI models. Ask them to review the output of the other.

sometimes I wonder about the things Ken has done
Usually you've got to buy somebody at least two Amstel Lights to get them to eat your ass out like this.
Lutnick on the $1 million Trump Gold Card: "It's a gift to the United States of America to help America be great again under Donald Trump."

Sorry, but this is something an idiot who doesn't have to accomplish any real work says. Being a billionaire is bad for you.

This list requires that government actors violate the law
According to a new court filing, the Trump administration has a six-page list of banned words that Head Start locations are forbidden from using when describing their programs.
Among the censored words: "disability," "race," "women," "trauma," "Gulf of Mexico." Short thread with the full list. 🧵

This article was just lying to you. California builds 25,000 ADUs per year because of state preemption. There are tens of thousands of homes built with state ministerial streamlining. There are now *hundreds of thousands* of homes that would not otherwise exist because of state preemption.
Statewide zoning reform isn’t producing the wins everyone expected. For example, state law can declare that small backyard cottages are legal. But unless cities can review them, permit them, and builders can finance them, legalization will remain largely symbolic.

We can all grant that Sam Altman is dumber than an elementary school dropout, right?
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

The Trump admin gave states an ultimatum: Cooperate with the immigration crackdown, or lose your federal funding.

Oregon and 19 other states fought back — and won.

Then officials logged in to the grant website to accept the money, only to find the button to do so was disabled: propub.li/4a4Bsk5

it is similar to the trick conservatives are trying to pull with the birthright citizenship clause. take something whose meaning is absolutely clear from just a plain reading of the text and transmogrify it into something that says its opposite through obfuscation and esoterica

Okay here's a weird little con law brain teaser

I talk from time to time about this idea of a "Church of Good," that's stripped of any theological component

Could... could the government properly create and support such a thing, consistent with the Establishment Clause (as properly understood)?
I really, unironically think that developing something kind of like the Catholic Church parish system except there's no theology attached to it could be really good for our society!!
