There's a video out there of ice lynching a man. Don't watch it. It will not help you or others to traumatize yourself.

Spend the time you would have spent watching it/wanting to vomit and scream making a donation to somewhere in Minnesota, or if you can't, researching where you can help locally.
Stand With Minnesota Donation Directory
Stand With Minnesota is a hub for supporting, learning, and taking action to support Minnesotans impacted by ICE and federal enforcement.

I don’t think we should be using words like “innocent” or “US citizen” or “bystander” or things like that because — what if someone was an undocumented immigrant with a criminal record? Would they deserve this? No one deserves to be executed on the street in cold blood.

All those people downtown yesterday, no ICE involvement, and not one incident. ICE shows up in a neighborhood and now another Minnesotan is dead. It's pretty obvious who the violent outside agitators are.

Here's a handy video of some warm-up exercises you can do to help get yourself prepared to shovel! Obviously, adjust them to your fitness level, but the main goal is get yourself warmed up for physical activity. You can't go from 0 to 60 here, & you'll get a better idea of what you can handle!

This is why masking in public, in an n95 or better, is a necessary act of resistance. BIPOC, disabled, immigrant, lgbtq esp trans folks… they’re all more vulnerable to illness & less resourced to recover.

The fascists know this. Your unmasked face their weapon.

Mask up to disarm them.

"5-year-old arrested" should not be a sentence we have to utter. I'm a nonviolent person but I wish only the worst fate upon ICE and every single person involved in detaining literal children. Nobody should be kept in these vile conditions, especially not kids, like wtf are we doing as a society.
The 5-year-old arrested by ICE In Minnesota is detained at Dilley. We reported on conditions there in the below article.

Parents said the food was contaminated with mold and worms & that children were so under so much stress that they were hitting their own faces & wetting themselves.
Analysis by The Marshall Project of ICE data obtained by the Deportation Data Project found that the Trump administration’s revival of family detention has swept thousands of children into ICE custody. At least 3,800 children under 18, including 20 infants, have been booked since Trump took office.

Finally something goes right this week, got the car working again, the battery was just drained by the extreme cold and needed a jump (which was covered by warranty).

We made the decision that we’ll pursue radiation treatment for Kona. There really is no “wrong” treatment for osteosarcoma because all of it sucks, it’s incurable even if we did amputation. We’ll take things a day at a time and prioritize her comfort even if it means less time together.

Everything is awful, but I'm really encouraged and amazed by the amount of community organizing I've seen. There's so many people on our side, who share values and ideals, who put in the work. People look out for each other. We're seeing the worst of our society, but we're also seeing the best.

Tough morning. Kona had her oncology appointment and is staying at the vet for more x-rays and tests before we can decide what we're going to do. Just tests alone are a couple thousand dollars so forgive me if I plug my shop a lot coming up. (I even have greyhound stickers!) shop.breelundberg.com

I’m usually so bad at taking my own advice, but I’m gonna hang onto this one because I still feel this way. Art by itself won’t save us by itself, but community can. And I think it will.
Not to be unkind, but I am so impatient about the “what’s the point of making my little zines/comics/crafts/art when the world is on fire” sentiments. I get it, but saving the world is not a responsibility shouldered by your art! That’s what being a neighbor, a friend, and hell, a citizen is for!!!

I’m sharing this video again because people don’t really get what these data centers and ai are doing to our planet and our communities. Especially Black communities because they were strategically placed there.

I need you to listen to these people.

Glad to see a lot of people saying they don’t mind this, because I don’t always have much art to share and I’ll never stop chatting about other stuff. 😅 I think it’s also a good thing right now to see artists (as well as other types of creatives!) as human beings and not content machines.
General question for discussion: How do you guys feel about artists that talk a lot in-between posting art, even if not directly art related? Inocuous posts, interests, etc.

It’s 10°F right now and will go down to 3°F overnight and the dog can’t go outside for more than literally 3 mins without her feet getting too cold 😭 (no she won’t wear booties).
