Birb says “Always remember to look both ways at a stop sign”

A dark gray and white bird stands on a stop sign, seen from the back. It leans forward and looks off to its left, as if checking for oncoming traffic.

This heron’s posture felt strangely familiar.
Then it hit me—it looks just like the Royō Daruma scroll, a classic Zen painting.
Search “芦葉達磨図軸” on bunka.nii.ac.jp or colbase.nich.go.jp if you’re curious. 🪶
まさかアオサギパイセンにダルマさん要素があるとは‼️(個人の感想です🤣)

A Grey Heron standing still in shallow, calm water at sunrise, seen from behind with its reflection mirrored on the surface. The bird’s rounded posture and tucked head give it a statuesque, contemplative look.

Baldwin: Our farmers are facing incredible headwinds. A lot of the fertilizer inputs come from Canada. Those have shot up because of tariffs. About a quarter of all farmers use the ACA for their health care coverage. This president is just contributing to the headwinds that our farmers are facing.

If any child in your life has an IEP or 504 plan:

Trump fired (we think) all of the employees in the office at the US Department of Education that disburses special education funds from the federal government that school districts use to pay for those plans.

The federal food program helping more than 1 in 4 young children access fresh produce, milk, and formula will run out of funding next week.

Over 5 million children could lose food assistance — all thanks to the Trump-Republican shutdown.

The cruelty is endless.

Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?

Yes, the underlying reason for the need for this is horrifying, stipulated, but watching so many people stand up and defend their neighbors and their community is a heartening reminder that the people who suck are not the majority even if they are the power

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Shining lasers into the air also forces aircraft doing stuff like “life saving medical flights” to land, which is a great way to lose popular support for your activism. Don’t fucking do this.

You should also try changing your stance to appear bigger and hanging your food in bags high enough off the ground that they can't reach.
