My favorite shot today came before sunset, just before golden hour where there's a little bit of a gold reflection on the sand. Are you still on the hunt? And are there any specifics you need?

Greens always make me sad because I have a diminished sense of smell, which obvs impacts taste, so I miss a lot of the nuance there. They all basically taste "green" to me, except iceberg which tastes like crunchy water

Anyways. It's Indigenous People's Day, so that was on my mind. I'd never been to a powwow and was not prepared for the drummers to beat some spine back into me, but that is unquestionably what they did.

First off, the musicians were incredible. The rush of live music is heady, period. But I stood there having felt, until that moment, like all was lost in the world and the future was darkness. And then I felt like a fuckin idiot.

Turns out a powwow was kicking off in the AT&T Square bit downtown. The drummers had just begun.

It was a true "should've sent a poet" moment for me (and my sister haha). We stood there until they were done drumming, cheered like maniacs, and then continued on

I was in Dallas last November for my cousin's baby shower, maybe a week after the election. Definitely wasn't feeling great about life. My sister and I were staying in different hotels downtown, but we met up to get breakfast, wander Neiman Marcus, etc

Police officers who publicly declare that they’ll quit if a mayoral candidate they dislike wins the election are (1) usually bluffing—sure buddy, toss away that paycheck and pension—and (2) exactly the sort of cops cities would be better off without, ones who don’t see themselves as public servants.
