One of the best exchanges I’ve ever seen on social media was when Lt. Cmndr Data and Bert the Chimney Sweep got into a rumble over Angela Lansbury.

Small camera (1.5 megapixel, monochrome, global shutter), plus some extra lenses (25mm and 50mm), plus an even smaller camera (320x320, so about 0.1 megapixel, but extremely low power consumption)

Our friends working on the TUBIN satellite are preparing for it to re-enter the atmosphere in a few days - around 16-Dec.

They have invited ARISS fans and other hams to monitor the telemetry at 435.950 MHz and share data.

TUBIN/TUBSAT-27 Re-Entry
Hi everyone, we now expect the next re-entry of a TU Berlin satellite, this time of TUBIN (project website). The latest prediction by GSSAC is around 2025-12-16 10:09:02 (UTC) ± 30 h, (but we recent...

It’s sweatshirt season… but not for humans! 😼

I don’t really want to encourage the people at Pantone, but I’ve been doing a lot of test prints, I’ve got the settings pretty well dialed in for this particular filament, and this color was cheapest. Yellow was 2x the price. ☹️

100 prints since I installed the version of octoprint with achievements, that is... I think. I'm on printers #3 and #4 so I find it hard to believe I've only done 100 prints. 😆

Another bracket! This one holds the solar cells on two of the sides so they don’t need glue/tape/velcro.

The other two sides will need different brackets, and the top will need a different one too.

“Get OUT of bed?!?!?!”

Of course that was yesterday. This morning she decided we should LEAP out of bed at 4am and start running around.

Human… did not leap or run around. 🥱

Designed a little bracket to keep the batteries from falling out of my #CubeSatSim. Instructions say to use wire ties but I decided to try designing a bracket! I think there’s enough vertical space for it. 😅

Main board is mostly assembled and transmitting on 70cm! Was able to put it into SSTV mode but couldn’t get QSSTV to decode the resulting transmission. May be a problem on the receiving side. Maybe not assembled enough for SSTV yet? Dunno. Still a LOT to do. #CubeSatSim

Missing Resistors obtained! Initial parts installed. Now installing software for the Raspberry Pi. #CubeSatSim

Good news! I finally found the cat vomit I heard at 4am! 😐

The cat would like you to know that she’s up very high.

Aargh. CubeSatSim work stalled for now due to THREE resistors I can’t find in my collection. ☹️ Oh well, plenty of other stuff to do on my looong weekend.

(They form the RF attenuator so I’m hesitant to improvise, FYI. And I have very few 1/2 watt resistors, as it turns out.)

CubeSatSim board stacking test, to make sure I have the correct headers and standoff spacing. Looks good!

Also, I have my own little test stand now, which may evolve into an alternate frame design.
