All of this happened with basically no help from elected officials of the opposition party. This was entirely the people.

any future political action that doesn't give highest priority to rounding up all of these guys and -- at the absolute barest minimum -- locking them up forever is explicitly giving them a few years to get a running start for next time

these guys are seeing the cliff coming and are trying to spin up the PR machine so they can still have jobs on the other side of the bubble: it's not that I burnt billions on my snake oil grift, it's that the ignorant masses could never grasp my vision of the perfect AGI future and so killed it

interesting article but the reality is much worse. AI is going to destroy hundreds of software companies in a best-case scenario where AI doesn't collapse. Not through job replacement or AI-developed software alternatives, but through poisoning codebases with non-exensible, non-maintainable code
“One notable MIT study found that 95 percent of companies that integrated AI saw zero meaningful growth in revenue. For coding tasks, one of AI’s most widely hyped applications, another study showed that programmers who used AI coding tools actually became slower at their jobs.”
AI Completely Failing to Boost Productivity, Says Top Analyst
AI may or may not excel at a lot of things, but from an economic standpoint, it's definitely not making us more productive.

you guys are really quick to say that scott adams wasn't funny but being a famous multimillionaire who is so profoundly insecure that you supercharge the ass cancer that kills you by years of constantly pumping your old man balls full of high grade test is an insane bit

Heartbreaking: Eichmann wistfully recalls the gentler reich of yesteryear
Before Trump, law enforcement were trained to behave professionally. At a traffic stop they would start with words such as "Mam, may I see your drivers license and registration."

ICE evidently trains their goons to start a stop with screamed profanity, quickly followed by violence.

a truly remarkable thing about gen AI with some real utility is that it is the first (and maybe only possible) objective taste gauge. If you like its output you are only responding to a smeared average of a type of art's most superficial and transient qualities. you have bad taste!

didn't really "get" how someone could stand to be around, much less fall in love with, a guy who sounds like a fork stuck in the garbage disposal but if you've got the brain of a small dog I bet between the roadkill smells and looking like a desiccated raw steak there's a lot to like

1. We need to fight hard for a good ACA extension early in December and hold Republicans fiercely accountable if they betray everyone.
