It takes a special kind of dullard to not realize it's not about being handed off facts, it's about *learning to ask the right questions*.
Aaaaaaaaaaaa *flails!* Love it when a game GETS me. ❤️ Bam, wishlist.
So are we talking Euro Truck Simulator except horse? Because I'm SO onboard for that.

Can you pet your horse's nose? Horse noses are very soft and worth petting.

When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.
Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

also, if anyone had a lead on a job in the seattle area it is much appreciated. my background is in tech support, but i will take anything ATM
It's absolutely amazing, in terms of writing, that the skit here is just saying funny things about bad shoes, which can only work if they're all legit funny and repetition-free, and they don't just merely pull that off, they knock it all the way out of the park.

👩🏾 Black furry creatives? artists? musicians?
👨🏾‍🦱 Black furry writers, lyricists, poets?
🧕🏾 Black fursuit makers? craftmakers?
👵🏾 Black furries who wanna hype up other Black furries?

Let's make a thread of some Black work 👇🏾

(Non-Black furries: boost work you like, but enjoy our greatness in silence 🤫)
queer spaces are so overly racially biased it makes me upset every time.

the lack of boosting black positivity or just interacting with black art is upsetting. black art, people, and characters aren't viewed in the same desirability as white characters.

You're living through one of the biggest technological transformations in world history and it has nothing to do with AI
Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

No desire that they're self-aware enough to recognize anyway. They're still burning the sky hoping to make a computer child-god that can be ordered to love them.

watching the UKs green party elect an actual unafraid leftist into leadership and see party membership double in under a month is once again endless proof that if you stand up for leftist causes and treat the electorate like adults, you’ll win people over easily

yearly reminder to people insisting that we view Christopher Columbus as "a man of his time" that *the people responsible for the Spanish Inquisition* thought Columbus was out of pocket
Christopher Columbus was dragged back to Spain in chains by a crusading knight, convicted of tyranny and immeasurable cruelty, pardoned by Isabella but banned from returning to Hispaniola.

Fuck Columbus.
Oh my GOD. x_x *whiiiiiine!*

Here's a new (or at least new to the internet) painting.

Requiem, 18" x 24" oil on panel
I mean do go on, this is good and acceptable. c..c Also do you perchance feel an urge to feed the giant beast cake as well...?
🙃
I swear, some day it will turn out that Macron was all along a Russian plant tasked with bringing the fash to power and that will make SO MUCH SENSE.
ALSO praxis >> extensive knowledge, I think. Claude is currently the best (IMO) because of this thing it does: when it's unsure about something's behavior, IT WRITES A SCRIPT TO TEST IT. That's brilliant! And possibly achievable by simpler models; they just need to be trained to do it.
So, that's where the cheap model thermocline is, I think: once they're capable of producing code that they can maintain themselves, the moat's gone.

Can they get there? No clue.
That, plus: the distinctive quality of great code is that it tells you ~all that you need to know about it; no touching something *here* and something unexpected happens *there*.

In other words... Good code is code that's maintainable with a shorter context. So... maintainable by cheaper models.
Been wondering about that... I'm not convinced that the (current) capability gap is that much of a moat. The introduction of MCP and agentic workflows was *the* big quantum leap, not model upgrades, I think? It remains to be seen how many more such leaps are ahead.

Thompson is, to my mind, one of the finest examples of leadership and courage, military or otherwise, you will find.

It is easy to just "follow orders", pretend you don't see what's happening or that you're just doing what your country needs "for patriotism"

Doing the right thing is a choice 25/28
The fact you put that space before the colon is so VERY you. ❤️

I guess the fact I noticed is so very me for that matter...
Bah c'est très raisonnable. Démare, cas sain.
