The number of people fired or suspended for speaking the truth about Charlie Kirk must serve as a reminder none of the far right are free speech advocates, they just want no limits on what they say.

it's not that there aren't people who deserve to die so much as that i don't trust any institutions that kill people to not develop self-preservational institutional goals and then keep killing people, even if i trusted any institutions to begin with, which i also don't

This isn’t vetting, it’s an attempt to *create* a bunch of “illegal” immigrants. Nothing has ever been more transparent in the world. They’re gonna revoke visas of people who like Kamala Harris on Facebook.

Sometimes I feel bad that I’m such a picky reader. Literally gave up on a book before even picking it up because of a comma splice in the blurb.

I haven’t been this excited for a bubble to burst since I was a toddler.
MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

One thing I'd like to point out is that Cloudflare fought against the idea that they should take action against neo-nazis, stalkers, doxers, and revenge porn posters for years. But websites that host drawn porn get taken down for "indecency" with no fight whatsoever.
The censorship of the Internet continues. Regarding Cloudflare proxy use

I got banned from a South Florida furs group for calling out a mod and his hypocritical uwu no paw-lotics bullshit. I avoid the no politics furry spaces because it's safer to assume it's a Nazi bar.
The biggest problem with the furry fandom is that it's the norm to be politically illiterate.

It's those who avoid politics and have no understanding of them that create the environment for fascists to exist in furry spaces.
POC furries what laments do you have about the furry fandom? Lemme hear them. Let me lift your voices.

The only difference between our reality and a Philip K Dick novel is the characters in a Philip K Dick novel don't choose to live like this

Of course Mamdani has visited Jewish communities. What angers Greenblatt is that Mamdani isn't courting HIM. By winning the young Jewish vote while condemning Israel, Mamdani is exposing how out of touch Greenblatt is with many of those he claims to represent. That's what makes Mamdani a threat.
Jonathan Greenblatt of the ADL said on TV today that Zohran Mamdani did not visit a single synagogue in NYC during the campaign. That is, to put it bluntly, a lie. forward.com/news/763210/...
ADL chief attacks Zohran Mamdani, but gets his facts wrong
ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt criticized Zohran Mamdani for not visiting synagogues, which he was, and not reaching out to Hasidic voters.

"I don't want to hurt you, stop fighting back, you're hurting yourself" is literally the language of an abuser.

One of the most banally horrifying things about this administration is that there is no subtext, no dog whistles, no need for interpretive work. It's all just explicit racism and cruelty.

Zoe please help - we thought the panel on our show was balanced, but it turns out they’re both pro-mass detention camps for asylum seekers. Would you come on to be the anti-detention camp voice?

We are in a really bad place, friends, I am telling you.

Anyone who thinks that Democrats should throw trans people under the bus because trans issues poll badly needs to be treated like the bigoted coward they are.

They poll badly because Democrats have let Republicans frame the entire issue without pushing back on it.

beyond the moral ghoulish ness I just don't understand the basic contention of how this is supposed to work as a defense. if a whole population of people was starving en masse, would one expect people with "pre-existing conditions" to be over or underrepresented amongst those who die first?
‘The people we have been starving were already quite ill’ is an admission of guilt not a defense.

The propagandists running the @DHSgov account are deliberately pushing thinly-veiled neo-Nazi material through the official communications channels of the U.S. government. Their goal is stirring outrage (to which they will express fake outrage) and signaling to their followers where they're going.
DHS is recruiting using a not-so-subtle reference to a 1978 book from white nationalist William Gayley Simpson, Which Way Western Man?

Simpson's book was released under an imprint associated with the National Alliance, founded by Turner Diaries author William Luther Pierce.

Yesterday a judge ordered ICE to improve conditions in holding cells at ICE's field office in NYC. It's a good decision, yet many of the responses here are along the lines of "none of this matters" or "they'll just ignore this." Those responses are wrong. Here's a quick thread on why.
HUGE. The first major court victory involving conditions of confinement at ICE field offices. The judge bars detention in any cell which isn't:

- Restricted by capacity
- Has mats for people to sleep on overnight
- Is cleaned 3 times a day
- Provides hygiene supplies
- Offers free legal calls
Judge Lewis Kaplan has GRANTED a motion for a TRO sought by lawyers for detainees at 26 Federal Plaza. It requires DHS to provide migrants a clean and safe place to sleep, prescription medication, nutritious meals, access to counsel, & other necessities storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

The genocide apologia saying it's not that bad because victims were disabled holds as much water as a a sieve. What's disabling them? Could it be attacks on their bodies living in famine surviving bombings? And disabled lives are lives no matter how they got disabled & it's ableist to discount them.
