The roots are literally classist and racists. Great Literature is almost always denoted by male whiteness first. Hence women’s literature studies, African American literature studies, children’s literature studies. Great Literature is another way to gate keep what someone else deems worthy….

Being a patriot means being critical of my government and making sure that it works on behalf of its people and betters conditions for the society as a whole. I’m equally as critical of dems as I am republicans- you just don’t see as many being accused of sex based crimes in one party vs the other🤷🏼♀️
Pretty sure not everyone knows this but I wish everyone did: Saying something critical of Republicans does not automatically equate to heaping equal and opposite praise on Democrats.
