The story is insane. The acting head of cyber security, a Noem crony, repeatedly demanded to see highly classified information he didn’t need access to, and when staff set up a lie detector test as a condition to grant him access, he failed it. So DHS suspended the staffers.

i love california dearly but also its not shown to outsiders ever that there just full-on is a Death Corridor of the entire state that runs down the spine where you can just smell carnage and butchery for miles - and then u pass through it and go "omg wow... look at how beautiful this forest is..."
driving down 5 for a long enough period will turn you mad as you witness what might've been one of the most beautiful regions on earth that's now been turned into endless acreage of legume farms and cow slaughterhouses but if you ignore that scarred spine it's still pretty pristine
